Nigel Moyes - Photographer

For me, standing in the pre dawn light or the 20mins after sunset and being the only person out there is the drug we call landscape photography and the rush of impending excitement we get when we race back to download the images and start the post production process is something only photographers get to experience.

I have been creating works of art for 15 years now and I have a certain style that I think transcends across many generations in how I personally view the landscape with its colour, texture and composition but I truly believe as an artist I only “found” my style about 10 years ago which then has made everything so much more fun and easy when I go out on shoots.

My work is not composite photography. I dont swap out skies and fake my images to the point that they are barely recognisable from the original RAW image shot. Other than a pano, I take one shot and do my basic edits in photoshop and lightroom to bring alive what the camera had already captured. If mother earth doesn’t turn it on during the shoot then I move on to another day.

Being the owner of an ad agency based in Mt Hawthorn called The Jam Jar and it is through my love of design and creating modern and very contemporary brands that I try and let this graphic orientation guide me on my photographic journey.
